A message from Mr Walker:
In summer, the song sings itself.

It has been a good week and the sun is beaming broadly on the school on Thursday evening as I write this.
All our children’s reports have been written. They should be in your children’s book bags next week. We hope that they are clear and self-explanatory but if you would like to discuss your child’s report with their teacher, please contact the school office.
The sun has shone and warmed our pool and our children have been swimming this week. Thank you to all the parents who have come in to help. We have not been able to trace spare parts for the boiler and have ordered a replacement instead.
Our children have been enjoying fitness tests, organised by Mr Peters with the support of our Secondary School Sports Coordinator from Angley. Our sports teams have enjoyed success at the Kwik Cricket Festival, he Aylesford Tag Rugby Tournament and elsewhere. Thanks to all our staff and parent volunteers, without whom our children’s participation would not be possible.
Rodney and Mary Lomas from Guide Dogs for the Blind visited classes, taught our children about visual impairment and let them use Sim Specs to simulate the consequences of eye disease. They brought a puppy and their own retriever Helix who were both a great success.
Sports Day will be on the morning of Monday 6th July if the weather is fine. The reserve date is Monday 13th July.

Thanks to all of you who have already participated.
Thank you to all our families and friends who came in to help with Do One Thing Day on Saturday 13th June. It is looking great and our children have already started using it. A special thank you is due to Isobel Kendrick for leading this project. Thank you also to all those who participated in our Parent Support Advisor - Julia Humphrey’s Dads’ and Kids’ Art on the same day.
Finally, may I remind you that the PTFA Boot Fair is on Sunday 28th June and our Open Day is on the afternoon of Friday 3rd July. We look forward tio seeing you, your familes and your friends.

Sports Report
It’s been a very busy middle of Term 6 and I have had the great pleasure of witnessing superb sporting displays from both our Kwik Cricket and Tag Rugby teams at various finals over the past weeks. Congratulations to all those who took part and represented the school so well.
Hot off the press is the news that Headcorn Kwik Cricket team also managed to win the central venue league at Staplehurst Cricket Club and were presented with an amazing trophy for doing so.
I would like to extend my gratitude and thanks to Mrs Edmonds for giving up her very valuable free time to coach these children. I wanted to remind parents yet again that as staff and coaches we are not paid to take on these extra activities. It is out of our love of the sport that we give up what is essentially our leisure time to take these clubs for your children.
However it’s not over yet as we also have the Rounders and Athletics meet at the Julie Rose Stadium creeping up on us in the last few weeks of term. Hopefully we can follow up our success in
